What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored by a website in your browser. Similar technologies, including pixels, tags and local storage, perform comparable functions. In this Policy all such technologies are referred to as cookies.
Axis operates two separate domains, the marketing site and the application. Each maintains its own cookies and its own record of consent, and you may therefore be asked once on each.
Our four categories
| Category | What it does | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Signs you in, keeps you signed in, protects against fraud and cross-site request forgery, balances load, and remembers the cookie choice you made. | No. Without these the Service does not work. |
| Preferences | Remembers settings such as language, timezone and interface choices. | Yes. |
| Analytics | Tells us which features are used and where people get stuck. We run our product analytics in-house. | Yes. |
| Advertising | Measures the performance of our advertising and lets us reach people who have visited us. | Yes. |
What we set
| Cookie or technology | Category | Purpose | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to the app. Set by our authentication provider. | Session, refreshed while active |
axis_consent | Strictly necessary | Records which cookie categories you accepted, so we do not ask again. | 12 months |
axis_session | Strictly necessary | Maintains your session and protects form submissions. | Session |
axis_prefs | Preferences | Interface settings such as timezone and view options. | 12 months |
| In-house analytics | Analytics | Aggregated feature usage and error reporting. First-party only. | Up to 24 months |
Meta Pixel (_fbp, _fbc) | Advertising | Measures the performance of our advertising and supports retargeting. Set by Meta. | Up to 3 months |
We do not use third-party analytics services, and we do not permit third parties to set cookies through our sites other than the advertising cookie above.
Your choice
On your first visit to each domain a consent banner is presented, offering Accept all, Reject all and Manage. Rejection requires no more steps than acceptance.
Nothing in the Preferences, Analytics or Advertising categories loads until you accept it. Strictly necessary cookies are set without asking, because the Service cannot run otherwise.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of all non-essential cookies and as an opt-out of any sharing for advertising. It applies automatically and you do not need to interact with the banner.
Withdrawing or changing consent
Consent may be varied at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. Consent is in any event re-sought every 12 months.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the Service working. How we use the resulting information is described in the Privacy Policy.
